Regain Locked Facebook Account

If your account has been locked, suspended, disabled or blocked by Facebook, the reason could be anything from entering the wrong password to making too many posts. There will be no warning and your account will be directly locked for an unknown period if Facebook smells something fishy.

Making friends is what Facebook has been created for. But sending or accepting friend requests in bulk can make Facebook think of you as a spammer. So, this can be one of the reasons for facing a locked account.

Facebook account can also get temporarily locked if someone tried to access it from an unknown device. Facebook keeps a check on the locations you log in to your account from, so if they notice an alien location, just to prevent hacking they lock it down for a while.

Facebook Jail is another term that is used to demonstrate the accounts that have been disabled or locked by Facebook, putting a ban on your ability to post or like anything, send friend requests for some days. Sometimes Facebook only blocks you from using a particular feature if you have overused it. For example- if you are posting content continuously, you may get blocked from posting on Facebook for some time.

First of all, it depends on why it has been locked in the first place. It can take anywhere from a few minutes, a day, 7 days, 14 days, 21 days to a month or more. The severe violations can even lock your account forever. In that case you will have to create a new FB account with a different email address.

Consider the following to help prevent Facebook from temporarily locking your account:\u2022 Verify your phone number, email address, and identity. Verifying your details lets Facebook know that you are a genuine user and not trying to impersonate anyone. You can include additional information like the college you attended if you wish.\u2022 Use strong passwords. A strong password means less of a chance of someone guessing your password. Long passwords require more time to crack.\u2022 A naturally aged account. Unfortunately for new Facebook users, in the eyes of Facebook, your account is less trustworthy, as spammers typically use new fake accounts to spam users. Therefore, a new profile is more likely to be blocked than an established one with many friends." } }, "@type": "Question", "name": "How long is a temporary facebook lock?", "acceptedAnswer": "@type": "Answer", "text": "A temporary Facebook lock usually lasts for 24 to 48 hours. To me this sounded like i could get back in as there is no mention of period to wait for or whether the photo id was rejected, however, it took me back to the locked account screen, so, i refollowed the steps and resubmitted my photo id, the same problem occured, i tried twice more and gave up ?

Losing access to your Facebook account is not unheard of. It is mighty frustrating when this happens! You will be locked out of your social media circles and lose access to friends. Thankfully, Facebook offers multiple ways to recover your account from iPhone and Mac.

If you haven't saved recovery codes, be sure to do it as soon as you regain access to your account. Should you ever again lose access to Code Generator, you can use one of these codes to log into Facebook from a new device or location.

You can also access the above recovery route through any browser, on desktop or mobile. Go to m.facebook.com and log into your account using your mobile number, email, or username and password. When prompted for the login code, click Having trouble? > I don't have my phone > Continue.

Note: If you cannot use any recovery methods, you have permanently lost access to your account. However, you can unlink an email address tied to the locked account. The unlinked email address can then be linked to a new or existing account. For more information, see "Unlinking your email address from a locked account."

Use one of your recovery codes to automatically regain entry into your account. You may have saved your recovery codes to a password manager or your computer's downloads folder. The default filename for recovery codes is github-recovery-codes.txt. For more information about recovery codes, see "Configuring two-factor authentication recovery methods."

If you configured two-factor authentication using a security key, you can use your security key as a secondary authentication method to automatically regain access to your account. For more information, see "Configuring two-factor authentication."

If you know your password for GitHub.com but don't have the two-factor authentication credentials or your two-factor authentication recovery codes, you can have a one-time password sent to your verified email address to begin the verification process and regain access to your account.

Note: For security reasons, regaining access to your account by authenticating with a one-time password can take up to three business days. GitHub will not review additional requests submitted during this time.

A recent report from NPR highlighted a workaround that might help a Facebook user regain access to a locked account. The trick involves purchasing an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset, currently priced at $299, then contacting Oculus support for assistance with the inaccessible Facebook account. NPR mentioned that this technique was discovered on Reddit and, indeed, several posts can be found in r/Facebook and r/Oculus recounting similar s
